The Seething StarParty Part 1 (23rd Feb 2018)

Start time: 19:30

Location: Seething Observatory

Host: Mark Shepherd

The Seething StarParty part 1!

With no BBC Stargazing Live this year, we've decided to add an additional weekend of stargazing at our observatory.

On Friday 23rd of February we'll be running a StarParty; with as many telescopes as possible available for you to look through.

Mark Shepherd will be delivering his (in)famous "What's up in the Night Sky?" talk. Those of you who have visited the society on a Group Visit may remember Mark's talks; they were always timely, relevant and peppered with great humour. In fact, when Mark learnt that Dara had said "apparently the skies are less interesting this year", he wanted to show you this is not the case.

You can expect the latest up to date knowledge on what to observe in February and March, whilst enjoying a superb talk.

  • Doors open at 7:30 with talks starting at 8:00, unless the room fills up earlier, in which case the talk will start sooner and depending on numbers likely to be repeated.
  • Talks vary in length but generally last approximately 40 minutes and are aimed at those with a general interest in astronomy. We will tweet if there is likely to be an additional talk.
  • Admission is Adults £3.00
  • Adult members £2.00
  • All Children £1.50 there is no need to pre book, just turn up on the night.
