September Public Open Nights 9 & 10/9/2016 The Search for a New Home – Introducing Proxima B

The recent exciting discovery of Proxima B has captured the public imagination; “What is it like there”, “can we travel to the new planet” and “do aliens live there” are just some of the questions on everyone’s mind.  In this hot of the press lecture, TV astronomer and author Mark Thompson introduces us not only to the new planet but also to the techniques used by astronomers to find thousands of exoplanets around the Galaxy.
