Members Talk - Dr Simon Sheridan

Dr Simon Sheridan – Research European Space Agency, Associate Lecturer of Open University in Planetary sciences, came to Seething on 27/11/15 and gave a very interesting talk about his work on the Rosetta project. Having worked on the project for its entirety, we had an insight of the what it was like to work on a 20 year project.

Dr Sheridan brought with him the replicate of the spectrometer on the Philie lander, a replicate instrument on Beagle 2 and meteorites including one from Mars. The members were so interested in talking to Simon that the poor fellow didn't get away until gone 10.

Thanks to Chris Greenfield for arranging this talk.
